Connecting a DEIF AWC 500 PCM5.2 controller to OrbiSCADA

Modified on Fri, 9 Oct at 2:08 PM

OrbiSCADA can connect to DEIF AWC 500 controllers equipped with a PCM5.2 module. These controllers require a different setup process from other controller types and can only be added by an OrbiSCADA partner.

Before you begin

Before adding the controller, confirm that:

  • The hardware is compatible: The controller is a DEIF AWC 500 equipped with a PCM5.2 module.
  • The data path is ready: DEIF has supplied the correct MQTT path, made it available to OrbiSCADA and granted OrbiSCADA permission to see and access the required folders and files.
  • A serial number is available: Your partner account has an available serial number (SN) in the ranges assigned to DEIF controllers: currently 10XXX and 11XXX.

All these requirements must be met before proceeding.

Adding the controller

An OrbiSCADA partner admin user must open Add controller in the admin section and complete the standard form. In addition to the standard required fields, pay particular attention to these fields when adding a DEIF AWC 500 with PCM5.2 controller:

  • SN number: Select an available serial number from the ranges assigned to DEIF controllers: currently 10XXX and 11XXX. If no serial number is available, contact support@orbiscada.com to request one. Wait until a serial number has been assigned to you before proceeding with the Add controller form.
  • MQTT/S3 id: Enter the controller’s path or identifier exactly as supplied by DEIF. This field is required for this integration, even though it is not marked with an asterisk in the form. Before proceeding, confirm that DEIF has made the path available to OrbiSCADA and granted permission to see and access the required folders and files.
  • Controller type: Select the correct controller type for your turbine from the available options. If no DEIF controller types are available, contact support@orbiscada.com to request that they be added to your admin account. Wait until they are available before proceeding. If you are unsure which option to select, confirm it with your DEIF contact person before creating the controller.

Data intervals and comparison limitations

DEIF AWC 500 controllers with PCM5.2 might not provide data at the same intervals as other controller types. When comparing this controller type with another controller type, account for these differences. Data points may not share the same timestamps or level of detail, which limits direct comparisons.

Troubleshooting

  • Incorrect MQTT/S3 id: If an incorrect MQTT/S3 id was entered when the controller was created, only OrbiSCADA support can update it. The partner admin must create a support ticket by emailing support@orbiscada.com. Include the controller’s OrbiSCADA SN and the correct path or identifier supplied by DEIF.
  • Missing access permissions: If the MQTT/S3 id is correct but no data is available, ask your DEIF contact person to confirm that the supplied path is available to OrbiSCADA and that OrbiSCADA has permission to see and access the required folders and files.
